If you don't know anyone who has a design sense (mainly your female or gay male friends), then here are two options. I happened to have some interior design stores near me (like Pier One), and so I decided to talk to some of the employees, and ask them how much they would charge to just look at my apartment and make some suggestions.
I realized that I couldn't just walk up to the female employees and ask them to come back to my place and "check it out" (sexual harassment), and so I simply asked them if they knew of someone who I could hire to just evaluate my apartment and make some suggestions... because I was totally clueless about design.

This is a safe way to ask someone something, because they can say "no" without feeling like they are being pressured, or "put on the spot". I was amazed at how many people will do this for hardly any money at all.

Another option is to check out your local colleges, and ask them if they have classes on interior design. Then, simply go and talk to
the teacher and ask them if he/she would be willing to give a volunteer student an extra credit assignment of evaluating your apartment. They could document the whole thing, and get credit for it... and you can pay them a small amount. Believe me, a little bit of cash goes a long way when you do this.

6) Notice your posture. How do you walk down the street? Are you confident, or are you slouching, and hoping that nobody notices you? Here's a simple question to ask yourself next time you're walking somewhere.

"How would I be walking right now if I was absolutely confident and I knew that I was one of the best catches around?"
This one little distinction will make a huge improvement in the way you carry yourself. Just keep asking yourself this until it becomes habit to "walk tall", and carry yourself well. Women will notice the difference.

7) Mow the lawn... and I don't mean the front lawn. Look, the 70's are over and excess body hair is not cool. You don't have to shave your body clean, but get yourself a pair of clippers that have different height attachments. Find a setting that you're comfortable with, and run the clippers over your body... including your legs, chest, back (if you can reach), and genital area (yes, I'm serious).
