I'm going to assume, for the sake of this article, that we're talking about
girls not calling you back when you leave a message on their answering machine.
You see, the problem with most answering machine messages is that they are very
common, and average. Usually it sounds something like this:
"Hi Christine, this is John. Ummm, I met you the other night, and I just wanted to call and say what's up. Well... if you get a chance, give me a call later. My number, in case you forgot it already, is 555-555-5555."
Now imagine you are Christine, and you come home to find 6 or 7 messages on
your machine, and that's JUST from guys who
are interested in you. Would YOU bother to return a call like that... especially
when you have so many choices in men?
First principal of getting callbacks: Always sound unique and different, but in a favorable way.
Think about it, if you're an attractive woman... and you have dozens of guys trying to get your attention, are you really going to settle for someone who is just.... well.... average? Of course not! That's why it's important for you to let women see that you really ARE unique.
For some reason, guys got it in their heads that in order to get women to like them, they have to act as polite, stiff, and boring as possible... on the phone, and in person. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Instead of showing her that you're just as good as every other guy out there, show her that you're completely different than anyone that she's ever met. And this goes DOUBLE on the answering machine, because she's not there to see your facial expressions and body language.
In other words, especially when you are first getting to know a girl, don't show her a watered down version of you.
